You can set up a Cricut Explore 3 on a computer via USB or Bluetooth. To create designs and cut materials with Explore 3, you also need to install the Design Space software. It’s available on Cricut’s official website. Here’s a 5-step guide to set up Cricut Explore 3.
Step 1: Turn On the Machine
Connect your Cricut Explore 3 to the power supply and turn it on.- Connect the machine’s power cord to the power supply on the wall and turn the switch on.
- Now, press the power button on the front of the Cricut Explore 3 to turn it on.
Step 2: Connect the Machine to a Computer
You can connect this machine to a computer via a USB or Bluetooth connection.Via USB:
- Take a USB cable and connect one side to the USB port of the computer.
- Then, connect the other side to the USB port of the Cricut Explore 3 machine.
Via Bluetooth:
- Confirm that your machine is within a distance of 10-15 feet from the computer.
- Then, click the Start menu on the computer’s taskbar and search for the Settings option.
- Under the Settings menu, click the Devices option.
- Next, check if the Bluetooth option is enabled. If not, turn it on.
- In the next step, choose Bluetooth as the connection type and let the computer detect your Cricut Explore 3.
- If the computer asks for a passcode, enter “0000.”
Step 3: Download & Install the Cricut Design Space
In this step, you need to download and install the Cricut software. This software is important to start designing and using the machine for projects. You can connect your Explore 3 without this software, but you can’t use it without it.Download:
- Go to an internet browser and navigate to design.cricut.com.
- Then, type your machine’s model name in the given field.
- Now, check the box that appears on the screen to accept the Cricut Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
- Click Download to start downloading it on your computer.
Install:
- Once the software is downloaded and saved to your computer, go to the Downloads folder.
- Then, double-click on the downloaded file to open it.
- Now, the computer’s screen will ask you to run this application on your computer.
- Select Yes to run it on your computer. An installation window will appear on your PC, and let it run.
Step 4: Sign In/Create an Account
After downloading and installing the Cricut software, create a Cricut account. (If you are an existing user, you can just sign in.)- Open the Cricut software and select the Create Cricut ID.
- Then, enter the necessary details, such as first name, last name, email address, country or region, etc., in the given field.
- Now, create a strong password for your Cricut account. Then, re-enter to confirm it.
- Sign in using your email ID and the password you have just created.
Step 5: Register Your Cricut Explore 3
After signing in to your Cricut Design Space, you have to register your machine. Once you open the Cricut Design Space, it will prompt a “New Product Setup” message.
