Cricut Maker 4 is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. To set it up on your device, first download and install the Cricut Design Space software on your computer. Then, connect the software with the machine. Here are the complete Cricut Maker 4 setup instructions.

Step 1: Turn on the Maker 4

The machine should be properly turned on to start its setup. 
  1. Connect the machine’s power cable to the power socket on the wall. 
  2. Press and hold the power button on the top to turn the machine on.
Note: Ensure that the machine is installed on a safe, flat surface.

Step 2: Download & Install the Cricut Design Space

Cricut Design Space is Cricut’s software. Users can download and install this application on their computers and create any design they want. The machine will then cut that design on a material of choice.

Download:

  1. Open Chrome or any other web browser and navigate to design.cricut.com to visit Cricut’s official website.
  2. Select the Maker 4 machine, and check the box to accept the Cricut Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
  3. Click the Download button to start downloading the app.
The software file will be saved on the computer. 

Install:

  1. Go to the Downloads location on the computer.
  2. Locate the CricutDesignSpace.exe file, and double-click on it.
  3. Click Run to start installing this software.
  4. Once the app is installed, a new page will appear asking for product setup or sign in.

Step 3: Sign In/Create an Account

Users are required to sign in or create an account in the Design Space to start designing.
  1. Click the Sign in option and select the Create a Cricut ID option. (Note: If any user already has an account, they can sign in simply using the username and password.)
  2. Sign up by entering all the required information, such as full name, country or region, email address, and creating a strong password.
  3. Now, sign in using these credentials.

Step 4: Connect the Maker 4 to a Computer

A Cricut Maker 4 can be connected to a device via a USB or Bluetooth connection. Bluetooth is a wireless technology, hence more preferred. Here are both the connection methods.

USB:

  1. Take a USB cable and connect one end to the Maker 4 in the USB port.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port of the computer.
