Cricut Explore Air 2 Blinking Red Power Light

When the Cricut Explore Air 2 shows a red blinking light, it shows a connection problem or an obstruction within the machine. Hence, if your Cricut machine is showing a blinking red power light, you should check the machine’s connection, such as USB or Bluetooth, with the computer or mobile device. Moreover, you should check for any dust or debris in the machine to resolve this error. Here’s how to fix this unwanted blinking light issue. 

Solution 1: Reset your Cricut Explore Air 2 

This is the primary method to fix any technical glitch with your Explore Air 2. We have two methods to reset this machine: a power reset and a factory reset. 

Method 1: Power Reset 

1. First, press the power button on the machine to turn it off. 
2. Then, remove the machine’s power cable from the power switch on the wall. 
3. Now, wait for about 1-2 minutes and then reconnect the power cable to the power switch on the wall outlet. 
4. Finally, press the power button on the machine to turn it on. 

Then, wait for some time and check if the red light is still blinking. If yes, check out the next method. 

Method 2: Factory Reset 

1. Make sure that your Explore Air 2 is turned on. 
2. Then, press and hold the three main buttons- Load/unload button, C button, and power button on the machine. 
3. Keep holding these buttons for at least 5 seconds, and then release them all. 

Your machine will finally reset. Check if the machine still shows a blinking red light. If so, you need to check the connections. 

Solution 2: Check the Connections 

A weak connection can also cause a red blinking light on the machine. Therefore, you should check that the machine is well connected to the USB cable. Plus, check if the machine is turned on and the device connected to it is also turned on. 

If you use a Bluetooth connection, check if Bluetooth is enabled on your computer device and if your Cricut Explore Air 2 is paired with it. 

1. First, click the Windows icon on the computer’s taskbar at the bottom left. 
2. Then, search for the Settings option. Select it and open it on the computer. 
3. Now, click the Bluetooth & Devices option on the left sidebar. 
4. After that, click the Printers & Scanners option and check if your printer is available on the listed devices. 
5. If it is not connected, pair it by selecting the machine from the listed devices. 

Solution 3: Check for Obstructions in the Machine

As you know, your machine can show a red blinking light when there is an obstruction in the machine. Hence, check out the steps to remove any obstructions. 

Step 1: Turn Off the Machine

1. Press and hold the power button on the machine to turn it off. 
2. Then, remove the machine’s power cord from the power switch on the wall. 

Step 2: Open the Machine’s Front Door

There is a front door on the machine that you need to lift to open. Then, you’ll see the carriage system, which holds your blades and pens. 

Step 3: Clean the Carriage 

1. Try to move that carriage left and right with your hands. 
2. Check if it is moving smoothly. If not, it must have dust and dirt. You must remove the dirt from this machine. 
3. Check for any piece of paper, vinyl, or any other material stuck inside the carriage. Remove them gently with your hands or tweezers. 

Step 4: Close the Front Door

Once you have removed the dirt and dust from the carriage system, you can now close the machine’s door, which you opened earlier. 

Step 5: Turn On the Machine

1. Reconnect the machine’s power cable to the power switch on the wall.
2. Then, press and hold the power button on the machine to turn it on.
