Cricut Design Space is the software for all the Cricut machines, including Cricut Venture. This tool is designed with multiple features, allowing users to create, edit, customize, and send the designs to the machine for cutting, drawing, or numerous DIY activities.
However, this software can exhibit certain issues, including failure to recognize the Cricut machine, inability to load on the computer, and display of a blank screen. Here are the troubleshooting methods to fix these problems.
Problem 1: Design Space Doesn’t Recognize Cricut Venture
The Design Space sometimes can’t recognize the Cricut Venture when its connection is compromised. For instance, either the USB cable is loosely connected to the devices, or the Bluetooth connection has been interrupted. As a result, the machine won’t work. Here is the solution to this problem.
Solution: Check the Machine’s Connection
Ensure the Cricut Venture and the computer are securely connected via the USB cable.
(Note: It shouldn’t be loose or damaged. If yes, replace the cable with a new one.)
If using a Bluetooth connection, check if the machine is paired to the computer using these steps:
- Click the Start icon on the computer’s taskbar at the bottom, and search for Settings.
- Select Bluetooth & Devices from the left sidebar.
- Check if the Cricut Venture is connected.
- Click the Remove option to remove the machine from the computer.
- Then, wait for a minute and select the machine to pair it again.
Finally, check if the Design Space recognizes the machine. For a better result, close the Design Space window and re-open it.
Problem 2: Design Space Showing a Blank Screen
If the Design Space is showing a blank screen upon loading, it can happen due to any of these reasons:
- Poor internet connection
- A build-up of cache and temporary files occurs on the computer.
- Minor technical glitch in the computer
Solution 1: Restart Computer and Router
When the Design Space shows a blank screen, it can happen due to a weak internet connection or a minor technical glitch in the device. In this case, restarting both devices can work best.
Step 1: Restart the Computer
- Click the Start icon on the computer’s taskbar at the bottom left.
- Click the power button and select the Restart button.
Wait for the computer to restart completely.
Step 2: Restart the WiFi Router
- Disconnect the power cable of the WiFi router from the power source.
- Wait for a few minutes to restart the router.
- Reconnect the power cable of the router to the power source.
Note: Ensure that you place the computer near the router, and avoid placing it near thick walls or cordless phones.
Solution 2: Delete the Temporary Cache and Files from the Computer
The accumulation of trash files and folders, along with the build-up of cache and cookies, might interfere with the Design Space. Deleting these unnecessary files will make the Design Space work well again.
- Go to Google Chrome, and click the three dots to expand the menu.
- Select Delete Browsing Data from the options and check the box for cache and cookies, browsing history, and cached images and files.
- Select the time range from the drop-down menu at the top. For instance, the last 24 hours, the last hour, or all time.
- Now, try to open the Design Space again on your PC and check if it’s opening.
Problem 3: Design Space Doesn’t Load on the Computer
Design Space software is unable to load on the computer, which is a common problem most users face. It usually happens when the software is out of date. Hence, uninstall and reinstall the Design Space software to ensure it loads successfully on your computer.
Step 1: Uninstall the Design Space Software
