To use your Cricut Maker 3, you must connect it to a computer, either via USB or Bluetooth. Without a proper connection, the machine won’t receive your designs for cutting from the computer. Learn about both connection options here:

Method 1: USB Connection (Wired)

It’s the easiest way to connect your Maker 3 machine to a computer. This method is the same for both Windows and Mac computers.
  1. Take a USB cable and connect it to your computer’s USB port.
  2. Connect the other side of the USB cable to your Cricut Maker 3 machine.
  3. Turn on the machine and the computer from the main switch.

Method 2: Bluetooth Connection (Wireless)

A Bluetooth connection is a wireless method to connect a computer to Maker 3. The process to set up this connection is slightly different on Windows and Mac computers.

On Windows:

  1. Turn on the Maker 3 machine.
  2. Then, go to the Start button on the Windows computer at the bottom left of the screen.
  3. Search for Settings, a gear-like icon.
  4. Select Devices under Settings, and toggle on the Bluetooth option.
  5. Now the computer will show a list of available Bluetooth devices. Select your machine from the list of devices to pair it.
  6. If your machine doesn’t appear on the list, click Add Bluetooth or Other Device.
  7. Select Bluetooth, and select Cricut Maker 3.
  8. Now, enter the PIN (e.g, 0000 or 1234), and click on Connect.
  9. Finally, the computer will show a confirmation message on the screen. Click on Done to finish the process.

On Mac:

  1. Power on the Cricut Maker 3 and place it no more than 10-15 feet away from the Mac.
  2. On your Mac, go to the Apple menu and select System Preferences (System Settings on newer Macs).
  3. Locate the Bluetooth option and turn it on.
  4. Select your Cricut Maker 3 from the list of devices.
  5. If a prompt asks you to enter a PIN code, enter “0000.” Usually, this code is printed on your machine with the serial number.
