Activate Cricut Mug Press

Activating a Mug Press is a crucial step in finalizing its setup and preparing it for creating sublimation projects. It involves connecting the Mug Press to the Design Space installed on a computer. Here are the step-by-step instructions on activating this machine. 

Case 1: If Design Space Is Not Already Installed

Step 1: Download & Install Design Space 

Skip this step if the Design Space is already installed on your computer. If it’s not installed, follow the steps given below. 

1. Visit cricut.com/setup on an internet browser on your Windows or Mac computer. 
2. Type Cricut Mug Press in the search field, and select the box to accept Cricut Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. 
3. Click the Download button to start downloading the software. 
4. Once it is downloaded, go to the Downloads section and double-click on it. 
5. Let the software file install on the computer. 

Step 2: Sign in to the Cricut Account

In the next step, you’re required to sign in to the Design Space account using the Cricut username and password. 

1. If you already have an account, use the details to sign in. 
2. Beginners can select Create Cricut ID and fill in all the necessary fields, such as full name, country or region, email address, and set a strong password. 
3. Use these details to sign in to the Cricut account. 

Step 3: Launch the Design Space 

After signing in to the Design Space account, use these steps to activate the Mug Press. 

1. Select the “Set up a heat press” option on the screen, and click Continue.
2. Then, select your product’s name from the on-screen list of machines. 
3. The screen will instruct you to install the machine on a flat surface and in a well-ventilated place. 
4. Connect the machine to a USB cable, and connect the other end to the computer. 

Case 2: If the Design Space Is Already Installed

If the Design Space is already installed, users can activate the machine directly using the settings in the Design Space software. Here is how to do that: 

1. Open the Design Space on the computer, sign in using the username and password. 
2. Choose the menu from the top section and select Settings. 
3. Select Machines under Settings, select New Product Setup, and then click Start. 
4. Click the Setup a heat press option, and then select Continue. 
5. Select the Cricut Mug Press from the listed devices and follow the on-screen guidance. 
6. It usually guides users about the firmware update, which it updates automatically. 

The firmware update may take a few minutes, so be patient until the process is complete.
