As a beginner, it can be confusing how to set up a Cricut Maker machine. Usually, this machine can be set up on any device, including a computer, a laptop, or a smartphone. Step 1: Connect the Cricut Maker to the Computer

USB Connection:
- Take a USB cable and connect one end to your computer’s USB port.
- Insert the other end into the USB port of your Cricut Maker machine.

- To begin, click the Windows icon at the bottom left side of your screen.
- Then, search for the Settings option and select the Bluetooth & Devices option.
- Now, click the Add Device button in blue on the right-hand side of the screen.
- After that, select your Cricut Maker machine from the list of devices opened.
- If asked, enter “0000” as the passcode.
Then, your machine will be connected to the computer via Bluetooth.
Step 2: Download & Install the Cricut Design Software
These steps are only for a Windows computer. Follow them as it is:
Download:
- Visit an internet browser and navigate to design.cricut.com.
- Then, enter your Cricut Maker machine name in the search box.
- Now, check the agreement box to accept the Cricut terms and conditions.
- After that, click the Download button in green just below the agreement box.
- Once the download is complete, go to the Downloads folder on your computer.
Install:
- Then, double-click the file and let the installation run.
- Next, a sign-in page will appear. If you already have an account, enter your Cricut username and password, or click Create Cricut ID.
- To create an ID, enter all the required details, such as your full name and country or region, and create a password.
The password you created will be permanent. You can use the same details every time you sign in to your Cricut account.
Your Cricut Maker setup is now complete. You can start using the machine now.
