Cricut Maker Software Issue

Cricut Design Space is the software you use to create and send designs to your Cricut Maker. It’s usually easy to use, but sometimes it can stop working the way it should. You might find that the software won’t open, doesn’t connect to your machine, or freezes while you’re working. These problems are common and happen to many Cricut users. The good news is that there are simple ways to fix them. 

Problem 1: The Software Doesn’t Open

When you launch the Cricut Design Space on the computer, it doesn’t respond, or it doesn’t even load. You close the window and reopen the software, but it still shows no response. In this case, you can restart your computer. 

Solution 1: Restart the Computer 

1. To start, click the Start button on your computer’s taskbar. 
2. Then, click the power button, and select the Restart option. 

Now, try opening the software again. This time, the software should open. But if it still doesn’t open, move on to the next solution. 

Solution 2: Uninstall & Reinstall the software 

In most cases, a restart works well. If your problem isn’t resolved, uninstall and reinstall the software. 

Uninstall the Software

1. Click the Windows icon on the taskbar of the computer, and search for the Control Panel. 
2. Then, click the Programs option. Under Programs, click Programs & Features. 
3. Now, check the Cricut Design Space program under the list and click Uninstall at the top. 

Reinstall the Software 

Download: 

1. Visit design.cricut.com on an internet browser like Chrome or Firefox. 
2. Then, search for Cricut Maker in the search box. 
3. Now, check the box to accept the Cricut Terms and Conditions. 
4. Then, click the Download button in green, and let the software download on your computer. 

Install: 

1. Go to the Downloads folder and double-click on the drivers file. 
2. Then, click the Yes option to grant permission. 
3. An installation will appear; let it install. 

Once you’ve reinstalled the software, sign back into it and start using it like before. 

Problem 2:  Cricut Design Space Lags 

In this problem, you start creating a design on your Cricut Design Space software, but it lags or freezes while working. This is a common problem, but it can be annoying when you have to repeat the steps and the software still doesn’t respond. You can relate this problem to a phone. When your phone lags, it doesn’t let you make a call or receive calls. The same happens with this software. You want to design, but it doesn’t let you. But you can fix it with a few troubleshooting methods. 

Solution 1: Restart the Design Space software 

As the first step, you should restart the Design Space. Here are the steps for this: 

1. To start, close the software window on your computer. 
2. Then, reopen it. 

When you close and reopen it, you’ll notice great changes. It will not lag during work. However, if this method doesn’t fix your issue, move on to the next method. 

Solution 2: Close Other Programs in the Background

Usually, users open many tabs to multitask. It is possible that your YouTube channel is running and that any other heavy software is running, such as Photoshop or Illustrator. You should close them if your work on Design Space is affected. To close them, just click the cross icon on the window. If this method is not working for you, check out the next method. 

Solution 3: Update the Software 

If the Design Space software is not updated, it can show technical glitches, such as lagging and freezing between tasks. Check out the steps below to update this software. 

1. On your Design Space software, click the profile icon, which is a three-line icon at the top right corner. It is the menu icon. 
2. Then, click the Settings option. Now, click the General option. 
3. Now, click the Check for Updates option. 
4. When you see a newer update, select it and let it download. 
5. After that, go to your Downloads folder, double-click on this file, and let it install. 

Now, you can sign in using your old Cricut details. When you use this newer version, no lagging will happen.
