Cricut Joy Bluetooth Connection Problem

A Cricut Joy may encounter Bluetooth connection-related issues, including the device failing to detect the machine, frequent disconnections, and pairing problems. All these problems are very common and can be fixed with these troubleshooting steps. 

Problem 1: Device Not Detecting Cricut Joy 

Sometimes, the device, whether a computer or a mobile, doesn’t detect the Cricut Joy as a connected device. It happens due to: 

1. Placing the devices too far apart from each other. 
2. Bluetooth is disabled on the device. 
3. Cricut Joy is not turned on. 
4. Minor technical issues with the computer. 

Solution 1: Basic Check 

1. Check if the Cricut Joy machine is powered on from the main switch. 
2. Ensure that the machine and device are within a distance of 10-15 feet only. 
3. Check if the power light on the Cricut Joy is flashing. 

Solution 2: Restart the Machine and Computer 

Restarting the devices can fix the Bluetooth connection problem with the Cricut Joy machine. Use these steps to restart the devices. 

1. On the computer, click the Windows icon and click the power button. 
2. Select the Restart option to restart the computer. 
3. On Cricut Joy, disconnect its power cables from the main power switch. 
4. Wait for 30 seconds and reconnect the cable to the power switch. 

Problem 2: Bluetooth Connection Failed 

A Bluetooth connection between Cricut Joy and a device may fail due to several reasons, including: 

• Using the wrong method 
• Wrong PIN code
• The machine is already connected to another device 
• Outdated operating system

Resolve these issues with the help of these troubleshooting methods. 

Solution 1: Remove/Unpair the Cricut Joy from the Device 

When the connection was interrupted by a temporary glitch, the Bluetooth connection failed. In this situation, removing and re-adding the machine to a device will work. 

1. Click the Start button on the taskbar of a computer and search for Settings. 
2. Select Bluetooth & Devices from the left sidebar and click the Remove option next to Cricut Joy. 
3. Wait for a few seconds and then select the machine to pair it with the device again. 

Note: Ensure that you use “0000” or “1234” as passcodes. Sometimes, entering an incorrect passcode also affects the connection. 

Solution 2: Disconnect the Cricut Joy from Other Devices

If your Cricut Joy is already connected to a device, whether a computer or a mobile device, it won’t connect to other devices. Hence, remove any connected devices first. In the case of a computer, follow the steps mentioned in the first solution. 

To check in a mobile device, go to the Settings, and then select Bluetooth settings. If the Cricut Joy is connected, click the Remove or unpair option to remove it. Try connecting your machine again to the desired device. 

Solution 3: Update the Operating System 

An outdated version of the operating system often causes connection failures. Hence, you should check if the system needs an update. Use the following steps to update the computer. 

1. Click the Start button on the computer’s taskbar and search for Settings. 
2. Select Windows Update and click Check for updates. 
3. If you see an update available, run it on the computer. 

After a few minutes, the update will be finished. Check if the Bluetooth connection problem is fixed on the computer.
